When I was a little girl, I used to spend hours dancing in my basement, making up steps and routines to the music of Shaun Cassidy, the Bee Gees, Footloose, Flashdance, and more. Now you know how old I am, lol!
I envisioned teaching these routines to others, and everyone feeling the exhilaration and joy that only dancing can bring, without fear or worry about anything or anyone.
Though I carried this dream throughout my life, it always felt out of reach, like something that could never really happen. But here I am, in my 50s, living that dream, and it has become an absolute, glorious reality. Watching the DreamBird Dance Troupe grow each week and seeing the light and joy it brings into the lives of so many women fills my heart with happiness beyond words. Their stories, backgrounds, camaraderie, and shared love for dance inspire me every day to make DreamBird Dance Troupe bigger and better.

Who Can Join?
Any woman with previous dance experience is welcome. It doesn’t matter if your experience is in ballet, ballroom, tap, jazz, modern, or any other style. If you have some basic to intermediate dance skills and love to dance, you’ll fit right in!
Do I Need to Audition?
No auditions, no pressure. We want you to feel comfortable and excited about dancing, and there’s no requirement to audition or perform. You can choose whether or not you want to perform at dance venues. It's all about what makes you feel comfortable and happy.
When and Where Are the Classes?
Wednesdays at 7:15 pm at Captivation Dance Studio in Henderson
Thursdays at 6:00 pm at Ballroom Addiction Dance Studio in Las Vegas
What Kind of Dances Will We Do?
Our routines are a mix of various dance styles. We create fun, themed routines that may include jazz, Latin, disco, country, pop, and more. Imagine dancing to a modern pop song with a touch of jazz and Latin steps—it's all about having fun and getting creative!
What Is the "Show Group"?
We occasionally perform at local venues and community events in Henderson and Las Vegas. It’s a chance to shine and share our skills and routines with others. But don’t worry, performing is always optional! If you want to enjoy the lessons without performing, that’s perfectly fine.
What Should I Wear?
For class, wear something comfortable—workout clothes or dancewear are perfect. Dance shoes with a velvet sole, like Crown practice dance shoes or any brand of jazz shoes are recommended. For performances, members will decide together on outfits, and each member is responsible for the cost of their own performance outfit and shoes.
Is There Anything Else I Should Know?
Yes! DreamBird Dance Troupe is a kind, positive, and NO DRAMA outlet for women who want to have fun and enjoy the physical, mental, and social benefits of dance. It's a safe space where we lift each other up. We maintain a positive environment, and if anyone disrupts that with negativity, gossip, or drama, they will be asked to leave. This is your sanctuary to dance, laugh, and find peace and joy.
